Our congregation is very dedicated to furthering the benefits of education as yet another way for individuals to discover their God-given gifts.
Application forms are available and will also be mailed to First Church in Windsor high school seniors. Persons of any age are welcome to apply, too. A statement of need must be signed by each student, but FAFSA numbers are not required. The deadline is May 1.
Frank Roswell Fuller Scholarship
Origin of the Fuller Scholarship Fund:
Frank Roswell Fuller was born in Hartford on August 23, 1873, and attended local public schools. He went to New York City at the turn of the century and commenced a long and successful career in the brokerage business. He later formed his own company at 40 Wall Street known as Fuller & Company, which operated from 1904 to 1920. When he retired he came to live in West Hartford where he purchased several large farms in the northwest section of the town. He died on March 1, 1957. Mr. Fuller was always interested in helping “needy, deserving” students obtain the education that he had not been able to enjoy himself. His will, probated in the Probate Court for the District of Hartford, establishes a substantial scholarship fund with the Connecticut Bank and Trust Company, now Bank of America, as Trustee. A committee of five was appointed by the will to determine the scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to meet the eligibility requirements for a Fuller Scholarship you must be:
1.
Able to demonstrate financial need (determined by filing the FAFSA)
2.
Currently in your senior year at a high school located within Hartford County
3.
Maintaining an average of 70 or better (or its equivalent)
4.
A member of the UCC/Congregational Church and “professed to be of the Congregational faith”
5.
Planning to attend a fully accredited four-year college as a candidate for a baccalaureate degree

Parker Scholarship
The Parker Scholarship is awarded each year to a deserving student in honor of our Minister Emeritus, The Rev. F. Van Gorder Parker (’54). Any member of First Church in Windsor, who is planning to attend a two or four year college, is eligible to apply for scholarships given in loving memory of Beatrice Berlin, Bob Belden, Pearl Tiffany, Sanford Sloan, Lyn Loucks, and Florence Mills.
Lucille Hempel Parker Music Scholarship
This scholarship exists to provide financial assistance to First Church elementary through college age children wishing to pursue any form of musical education. It acknowledges and honors Lucille Hempel Parker's commitment to the musical offerings performed by children or young adults in this church. Scholarship applications are due by May 27 and recipients will receive their awards on Christian Education Sunday, the second Sunday in June.

PRISCILLA FORD SCHOLARSHIP 
This fund was established to honor the years that Priscilla Ford devoted to the children and youth as Director of Children’s Ministries from
through August, 2008. It is her wish that these monies be used for young people who wish to participate in experiences with Heifer education and outreach at Overlook Farm, the youth mission trip, other trips with mission components, and/or the National UCC Youth Event.
Requests for these funds may be made in written form to the Board of Christian Education and sent to the Church Office.
