March is Women's History Month! Here at FCW we're celebrating the history of women in ministry! Throughout this month, several FCW members will share their stories about the challenges and rewards of being a woman leader in the church. Today, as Women's History Month draws to a close, we turn our attention to our very own Pastor Adrienne! All the women in this series have been inspirational and we thank each of them for their ministry, vision, and leadership.
Rev. Adrienne Armes has been in ordained ministry since 2007 and has served congregations in Tennessee, Arizona, North Carolina, California, and Connecticut. She has dual ministerial standing with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ. After growing up in a denomination that largely does not support the ordination of women, she and her husband (also an ordained minister) realized the importance of denominations recognizing and supporting women as equals in ministry and joined the Disciples of Christ. She is thrilled to serve in a UCC congregation with two women pastors and hopes for the day when all denominations recognize women as equals.
