Music

At First Church, music is an important part of our worship service! We offer a number of opportunities to get involved and everyone is very welcome, regardless of skill or experience level and no auditions are necessary. Our Music Director, Jane Frogley (jfrogley@att.net) , directs our gallery and bell choirs and also serves as our organist and pianist. Our youth choir director, Emily Courtney (emily.e.courtney@gmail.com)., directs our children's choir, known as the Spark Singers  Our Drumming Circle is lead by Maria Eberle (mariaeberle52@hotmail.com). +To get involved with any of these music ministries, simply shoot us an email!

Gallery Choir

Our gallery choir lead the singing at our 10 a.m. worship service.

Who: All singers, middle school aged and up
What: SATB choir, learning and presenting a wide variety of music
When: Every second Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Sunday Morning warm-up at 9:15 a.m., special rehearsals for seasonal events

Bell Choir

This group consists of “ringers” of all ability levels. Reading music is helpful but not necessary. In addition to playing in during the worship service from time to time, the Bell Choir also takes part in occasional concerts.  

Who: Anyone, middle school aged and up
What: Learning and presenting a variety of hand bell music
When: Thursday evenings, 7 to 8 p.m.

Drumming Circle

Drumming is more than just percussive rhythm.  There is much research to suggest that drumming accelerates physical healing, boosts the immune system, lowers blood pressure and produces feelings of well-being, a release of emotional trauma, and reintegration of self. Come and give it a try!

Who: Anyone interested in drumming, elementary age and up
What: Learning basic drumming skills and rhythmic patterns
When: The third Wednesday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m.

Children's Choir 
Our children's choir, the Spark Singers (for children in grades 7 through 12) rehearse periodically throughout the year and perform at special worship services. Look out for rehearsal dates in upcoming emails or reach out to Emily Courtney at emily.e.courtney@gmail.com.
